We have been blessed with the best weather Willow River has to offer - Warm days and cool nights.

The children are enjoying the schedule of structured time along  with breaks of free time.

Evening meals have been lots of from.  The cafeteria has been decorated in keeping with the theme of the day and the costumes worn have ranged from simple to extravagant.  Yesterday we celebrated Christmas as we talked about the journey of Mary and Joseph.  For dinner, consumes ranged from Nativity characters, elves, reindeer, the Grinch, and even a chimney.  Santa and Mrs. Claus met us at the door.  A Macy's Thanksgiving even paraded down the aisle!

Emails, packages, and letters are handed out at dinner.  These encouragements from home are really welcomed by campers and staff alike.

We appreciate you keeping us in your thoughts and prayers.  The Spirit is very active in this place.  I am privileged to be here witnessing it all and serving as a counselor in cabin 1.

Wanna send someone an email??

Just like regular mail post, we also accept letters to campers and staff via email.  If you are interested is sending a letter via email, please send a note with the person's name in the subject to EYMCdean@gmail.com.

Merry Christmas!

Today it is Christmas in August.  At morning worship all the campers got to see their beloved counselors and staff act out (with the help of the leadership team acting a puppeteers) the story of Joseph and Mary.  Mr. D was baby Jesus, with Counselors Willie and Annie as Joseph and Mary.  It appears the campers love it when staff look silly (several were bah-ing as sheep) – go figure.  The skit laid the foundation for today’s discussion and theme of doing things that God wants us to do even when they are hard and others do not understand.  Off to help with instrument time II, where the kids are learning holiday songs to fit with the theme.  Have a GREAT day!

Fobby in cabin 4

FOBBY is a quiet time just after lunch.  Flat On Bunk By Yourself

Cabin 4

I tried to take a picture of the white sock award winners in my cabin, this is the result. Fun!

Update

Update from the EYMC technical office (aka the person trying to do the blog...)  Internet has been slow and intermittent, but another bunch of photos have been added to the photo album completing August 4th.  Check them out.  We are having a great time!  I am almost late to cabin 4's faith formation time.  Got'a run.

A note from Cabin 1

Cabin 1 houses the youngest girl campers.

For some of them this is the longest time they have been away from home.  However, no to worry, they have bonded and are enjoying music, planned activities, free time, FOBBY, and canteen.

Today is an exciting day!  Cabin 1 won the "White Sock Award" for the cleanest cabin and are looking forward to skit night this evening.  It involves a caterpillar using the blanket that Gionna's grandma made.
